Recruit Bud vs Fawin: which AI screening tool fits?

Recruit Bud is an AI TA that sources, screens, and follows up with candidates on a hiring team's behalf. Fawin is an AI phone interview and resume screening platform built for Indian hiring teams. Both call candidates, ask screening questions, and hand back structured data instead of a recording nobody has time to listen to.

The differences that actually matter show up once you look past that shared starting point, in how each one prices the work, where candidates come from, and what happens once the call ends.

Fawin solves a real problem for a specific kind of buyer, and there are situations where it's the better fit. Read Recruit Bud's side the same way you'd read Fawin's: against what it actually does, not what it calls itself.

TL;DR

  • Fawin is a standalone, pay-per-interview screening tool. It scores resumes and runs voice interviews in English, Hindi, or Hinglish, but doesn't publish pricing and doesn't source candidates.

  • Recruit Bud sources, screens, and follows up (voice + WhatsApp + email) in one platform, priced on a published bundled plan starting at ₹9,999/month for 400 screened candidates.

  • Pick Fawin if your sourcing pipeline is already working and phone screening is the one piece you want to hand off.

  • Pick Recruit Bud if sourcing is also part of the gap, or you want a published price before the first conversation.

What does each tool actually do?

Fawin parses a job description, scores incoming resumes against it, then places outbound AI voice interviews in English, Hindi, or Hinglish. Every call is recorded and auto-transcribed, and Fawin returns an automated verdict, PROCEED, BORDERLINE, or DO NOT PROCEED, along with separate scores for resume fit and call performance.

It extracts notice period, current and expected CTC, location, relocation willingness, and shift preference as structured fields, and a recruiter can override any AI verdict before it's final.

Recruit Bud runs the same kind of structured voice screening, but treats it as one stage in a longer process rather than the whole product. Sourcing is built in, either through Recruit Bud's own apply flow, a link candidates land on directly, or an API into an ATS or in-house tool a team already runs.

Voice, WhatsApp, and email are all live channels, so a candidate who doesn't pick up the phone still gets a follow-up message rather than being dropped, and the call itself can run in a choice of voices to match a brand's tone. The shortlist that comes out the other end is meant to be the final review step, not a report that still needs another vendor to act on.

Practical difference: Fawin's job ends when the interview verdict comes back. Recruit Bud's job starts before the call, with sourcing, and continues after it, with follow-up.

Where does the pricing actually differ?

Fawin uses a credit-based, pay-per-interview model. Cost tracks usage directly, there's no annual contract to sign, and the barrier to trying it is low. The tradeoff is that Fawin doesn't publish what a credit costs anywhere on its site, so the real number only surfaces once you're far enough into a conversation with them to ask.

Recruit Bud is sold as bundled monthly plans, priced per fully screened candidate rather than per call attempt: ₹9,999 a month for 400 screened candidates, ₹35,000 a month for 1,500, with quarterly and yearly discounts and a custom plan for larger, volume-based accounts. The number is public before you talk to anyone.

Teams with a working pipeline that just want phone screening handled

If cost predictability matters more than an exact number upfront, Fawin's pay-as-you-go structure is a reasonable place to start, especially for a company still deciding whether AI screening belongs in its process at all. If you'd rather budget against a published figure from the first conversation, Recruit Bud's pricing is public on the pricing page.

Where does sourcing and follow-up matter more than the call itself?

This is the part of the comparison where the two tools diverge the most. Fawin is explicit that it currently works as a standalone platform. It screens whoever you load into it, and its integration currently runs outbound, pushing scores and transcripts to other systems, rather than pulling candidates in from an ATS or sourcing pipeline.

For a team that already has a steady stream of applicants and just wants the phone-screening step handled, that's not a gap that matters. It becomes a gap the moment sourcing and screening need to work as one motion, which is closer to how companies with no dedicated HR or TA person actually operate.

There's nobody feeding a separate sourcing tool candidates to hand off. Recruit Bud's sourcing being built in, rather than a future integration, is what lets it function as the whole first-round hiring motion instead of one stage inside it.

The same logic applies after the call. A candidate who doesn't answer isn't necessarily gone, and what happens to a screening call that doesn't connect is often the real difference between a completed shortlist and a partial one.

Fawin retries a call up to twice over 24 hours and refunds the credit if it never connects, which is a fair and transparent policy. Recruit Bud follows a missed call with WhatsApp and email, so a candidate who's harder to reach by voice still has two other ways to respond.

Which one should you actually pick?

If your hiring already runs through a working sourcing pipeline and phone screening is the one piece you want to hand off, without paying for anything beyond that, Fawin's standalone model and pay-per-interview pricing are built for exactly that scope. Its resume-plus-voice scoring is also worth a look if a combined resume and call verdict is what you need most.

If sourcing is part of the gap, not just screening, or you want a published price before the first conversation and a channel beyond voice for candidates who don't pick up, Recruit Bud is built around that fuller scope. The free 2-week pilot is there specifically so you can run it against a real batch of roles and candidates before deciding either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Fawin only for phone screening, or does it also source candidates?

Fawin is a standalone screening platform. As of now, it works with candidates you already have, and its current integration is built for pushing scores and transcripts out rather than pulling candidates in from an ATS. Recruit Bud sources candidates directly through a built-in ATS, an apply link, or an API into a system already in use, in addition to screening them.

How does Fawin's pricing compare to Recruit Bud's?

Fawin charges per interview on a credit basis, with no annual contract required and no exact credit price published. Recruit Bud publishes its pricing directly: bundled monthly plans priced per fully screened candidate, starting at ₹9,999 a month for 400 candidates, with quarterly, yearly, and custom enterprise options.

Does Fawin support Hindi and other Indian languages?

Yes. Fawin runs voice interviews in English, Hindi, and Hinglish, with Devanagari script support for candidate-facing communications. Recruit Bud also covers English and major Indian languages, which matters for both tools given how much Indian hiring happens outside English-only conversations.

Which one is better for a small company just trying this out?

If you want to pay per interview with zero commitment and don't need sourcing or an ATS connection, Fawin's model is built for exactly that. If you'd rather see a published price upfront and want the tool to also pull candidates in, not just screen the ones you already have, Recruit Bud's free 2-week pilot covers that end to end.

If you want to see the sourcing-to-shortlist difference on your own roles, try Recruit Bud with the free 2-week pilot before deciding between the two.
